A group of elementary students transformed a simple potluck idea into a dynamic "marché culturel" project to benefit KidSports Ï㽶ֱ²¥. This initiative was rooted in celebrating their diverse cultural backgrounds, aiming to strengthen students' connections to their personal and family identities. It also provided a practical learning experience in marketing and finance.

Working in teams, the students put together an extensive and culturally varied menu. They also designed local business websites, complete with product details for their market. Throughout the project, they sought feedback from staff and peers, fine-tuning their sales strategies and perfecting their unique dishes. Adding a creative touch, the students produced French-language videos, sharing insights into their culinary endeavours.

This project was a resounding success, raising over $800 for KidSports Ï㽶ֱ²¥. In recognition of their efforts, Olympic speed walker Evan Dunfee, associated with KidSports, is scheduled to visit the class in January to accept the donation.
