A secondary music class recently made waves with their stunning performance of Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" in the 2023 Canadian Music Class Challenge. A group of 26 gifted students, ranging from Grades 9 to 12, devoted an entire month to mastering their rendition, a dedication that paid off with recognition in the Senior Instrumental (Grades 11-12) category.

This challenge, however, was more than just a competition; it was a creative journey for the students. The rhythm section was particularly noteworthy, starting the performance with an impressive introduction. The students aimed for precision in each note while adding a personal touch to their performance, showcasing their individual talents within the ensemble.

Year after year, this event celebrates musical talent, drawing classes from across Canada to share their best interpretations in pursuit of top honours.
